Three 2023 NCAA champions, including two NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Players, took the floor in Las Vegas. One in particular, Tristen Newton, proved to be a go-to guy during a tight contest with the Phoenix Suns. Today, four former Huskies have the opportunity to showcase their talent even more as we have reached the final day of the NBA Summer League before the playoffs.

Tristen Newton

While Newton was not a double-figure scorer like Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller or Jaylen Clark were, Newton was a key sixth man for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The two-time national champion scored nine points, most of which came from a perfect 6-6 at the free-throw line. He was +18 in the plus/minus category, one behind Jaylen Clark with a team-high +19. Newton also recorded five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 23 minutes. His only field goal made (1-3) came from 3-point range and ended up sealing the win. The Timberwolves defeated the Suns 89-85.

Andre Jackson Jr.

The entire starting lineup for the Milwaukee Bucks ended in the negatives in the plus/minus category. Jackson was the team’s lowest at -27. In a 102-96 loss to the Chicago Bulls, the Bucks mainly got their production from their bench. Jackson finished with a stat line of five points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes played. He needs to prove that he’s worthy of the Bucks’ final roster spot, which has been reported to come down to either him or Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

Adama Sanogo

In a 86-76 win over the Washington Wizards, the Utah Jazz dominated on the glass. Sanogo was part of that dominance, grabbing nine rebounds in a starting role that helped the Jazz improve to 1-3. In 19 minutes, he scored three points and finished with a +13 in the plus/minus column.
