BROOKLYN, NY – JUNE 25: Liam McNeeley poses for a photo with Dan Hurley after being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets during the 2025 NBA Draft – Round One on June 25, 2025 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The league’s up-and-comers showcase their talent at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas for the next 10 days. Among those are a handful of players who helped pave the way for the UConn men’s basketball team to have hopes of winning three national championships in a row.
The Huskies in the NBA Summer League this year include:
- Liam McNeeley, Charlotte Hornets
- Samson Johnson, Indiana Pacers
- Cam Spencer, Memphis Grizzlies
- Andre Jackson Jr., Milwaukee Bucks
- Tristen Newton, Minnesota Timberwolves
- James Bouknight, Portland Trail Blazers
- Adama Sanogo, Utah Jazz
Some have already played in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
Spencer, who helped the Huskies hoist the 2024 national championship, excelled in his second summer playing for the Grizzlies. In two games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on the University of Utah’s campus, the former All-Big East first team guard averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, two assists and one steal per game while shooting 54.5% from the field, 64.3% from the 3-point line and 100% from the charity stripe.
In a 92-80 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, Spencer had 14 points and five assists on 5-8 shooting.
His most impressive performance came on Monday, scoring 23 points and knocking down seven 3-pointers in a 112-111 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Sanogo, the 2023 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, was terrific as a late acquisition for the Jazz.
The former Chicago/Windy City Bull did not miss a single shot in three games in Salt Lake City, averaging 5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. His best performance came against the Thunder on Tuesday with 9 points and seven boards.
