Week 6 looks fantastic, with a great late afternoon game in a rematch of the AFC Divisional matchup between the Bills and the Chiefs. Also, Sunday Night Football on NBC features two of America’s top teams in the undefeated Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. What more could you ask for? Here are my picks:
New England Patriots (2-3) at Cleveland Browns (2-3) (-2.5)
Bailey Zappe played great, even though he was up against the NFL’s worst defense. If the defense plays this great, even with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt leading one of the best rushing teams in the league, I think Bill Belichick and the defense is key in the Patriots getting back to .500.
Tune into Patriots at Browns at 1 PM ET on CBS.
San Francisco 49ers (3-2) (-4) at Atlanta Falcons (2-3)
The Falcons look weak on both sides of the ball, which means they are no match for San Francisco’s stifling defense. If Marcus Mariota wants to be “more than a bridge” at quarterback (thanks Associated Press for that description), he will need to overcome the obstacles that the 49ers provide. I think Mariota isn’t the guy and he’s just a fill-in. Niners win.
Tune into 49ers at Falcons at 1 PM ET on FOX.
New York Jets (3-2) at Green Bay Packers (3-2) (-7.5)
The Jets are surprisingly 3-2 so far, which is impressive considering how bad they have been in recent memory. However, they are pretenders. The Packers should roll past them, even with Aaron Rodgers not playing the best football of his life. Lambeau will be too much for the Jets today.
Tune into Jets at Packers at 1 PM ET on FOX.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) at Indianapolis Colts (2-2-1) (-1.5)
The Colts have Jonathan Taylor, Shaquille (formerly Darius) Leonard, and Kwity Paye out today, which is bad news all around for Indianapolis. Matt Ryan has made the Colts’ offense painful to watch, I’ll take the Jags in an upset.
Tune into Jaguars at Colts at 1 PM ET on CBS.
Minnesota Vikings (4-1) (-3) at Miami Dolphins (3-2)
Just imagine if Tua was playing today. That would make this my favorite 1 PM matchup. However, he’s out and I love the Vikings offense right now. Expect this game to go down to the wire, but Minnesota picks up a huge win on the road.
Tune into Vikings at Dolphins at 1 PM ET on FOX.
Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) (-3) at New Orleans Saints (2-3)
I’ll certainly take the AFC Champions in this matchup. Whenever Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are in the state of Louisiana, magic happens. Even though I like the Saints especially on defense, I think the Bengals prevail in a close battle.
Tune into Bengals at Saints at 1 PM ET on CBS.
Baltimore Ravens (3-2) (-5.5) at New York Giants (4-1)
The Giants have come up with incredible ways to win, they have been in some very entertaining games so far this season. However, they haven’t proven to be dominant, while the Ravens have star power. Give me Lamar Jackson all day against the Giants.
Tune into Ravens at Giants at 1 PM ET on CBS.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) (-9.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4)
The Steelers don’t look good at all. Tom Brady and the Bucs should take full advantage of Pittsburgh, especially with T.J. Watt out. Kenny Pickett starting against one of the best defenses in the NFL is never a good thing.
Tune into Buccaneers at Steelers at 1 PM ET on FOX.
Carolina Panthers (1-4) at Los Angeles Rams (2-3) (-10)
The defending Super Bowl Champions have not began their season the way they wanted to, with a 2-3 record. However, they get a look at Christian McCaffrey and the Panthers today. It’s an interesting story with CMC on the market and Cam Akers on the trade block. Rams dominate at home against the worst scoring offense.
Tune into Panthers at Rams at 4:05 PM ET on FOX.
Arizona Cardinals (2-3) (-2.5) at Seattle Seahawks (2-3)
Geno Smith has played great so far, and I actually started him in fantasy over Aaron Rodgers because of how both quarterbacks are playing right now. I’m taking Seattle in a close one because of the home-field advantage at Lumen Field.
Tune into Cardinals at Seahawks at 4:05 PM ET on FOX.
Buffalo Bills (4-1) (-2.5) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-1)
The Chiefs are an underdog at home which makes not much sense. It’s a rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional game, and I hope there’s another overtime. I may switch off RedZone just to watch this only. It’s a phenomenal game between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Expect a shootout, but key defenders for the Bulls being out make the Chiefs victorious.
Tune into Bills at Chiefs at 4:25 PM ET on CBS.
Dallas Cowboys (4-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-0) (-6.5)
How about the start the Eagles are having right now? I can’t wait to watch this, but I wish Dak Prescott were playing. With the game at home and great decision making, give me the Eagles in overtime.
Tune into Cowboys at Eagles at 8:20 PM ET on NBC.
Denver Broncos (2-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (3-2) (-4.5)
Chargers country, let’s ride. The Broncos have not looked great at all, and I’ve not been a fan of Nathaniel Hackett’s coaching. Justin Herbert has been too good for me to go against him. Go Chargers on Monday night.
Tune into Broncos at Chargers on Monday at 8:15 PM ET on ESPN.
