2022 NFL Draft Preview and Favorite Prospects

As ESPN’s Matthew Berry would say, “Welcome to the best day of the year: Draft Day!”

It’s an exciting week in the NFL, where the future of the league will find out which team they will play for in the fall. Barring any crazy scenarios, the first overall pick is likely to be an edge rusher. The favorite for #1 was Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson until recently when Georgia edge rusher Travon Walker skyrocketed his stock.

Day 1 (Round 1) will take place tonight at 8 PM ET. Day 2 (Rounds 2 and 3) will be tomorrow at 7 PM ET. Day 3 (Rounds 4-7) will be Saturday at 12 PM ET. All three days will be broadcast ABC (College Gameday commentators), ESPN (NFL on ESPN commentators), NFL Network, and ESPN Deportes (Spanish coverage). The Draft takes place on the strip of Las Vegas, near the High Roller.

After a great year of covering college football here on Calhoun’s Corner, there are some prospects that I absolutely love that are in this year’s draft. Here are some of my favorite prospects:

Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State

Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

John Metchie III, WR, Alabama

Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

Travis Jones, DT, UConn

Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

This draft class is loaded on the defensive side of the ball, with lots of great wide receivers for the offensive side. If you want to look at my seven-round mock draft, click here.

I’ll have a recap of each day of the draft, so stay tuned!
