Since I am a senior in high school, I’ve gone through a stressful and long process for what college I’m looking to attend in the fall of 2022. This isn’t a sports article, but I think my blog is the perfect place to announce my college decision. I am going to major in journalism, I do not doubt that. I’m actively looking to pursue a career as a play-by-play sports broadcaster, along with being a writer and analyst for the NFL, NBA, college football, and college basketball. I started that journey with this blog back on December 31, 2020. I’ve started to make connections with people who have already reached the goal I’m aiming for.
First of all, I want to thank my parents for raising me right. I, most certainly, wouldn’t be where I am today without you guys and your guidance. To my sisters, thank you for always having my back and helping me when I needed it. To my grandparents, thank you for being the most generous people ever. I can’t wait to make more memories with all of you. To my aunts, uncles, and cousins, thank you. To my friends, thank you. Some of you have taught me important life lessons and given me thicker skin throughout middle and high school. Some of you I even consider family. You know who you are. To my teachers, thank you for everything you’ve taught me in the course, helping me when I needed it, and making sure that the course was rigorous enough to prepare me for the next level, which is college. To my Academic Strategies teacher, Mr. Lewis, thank you for four years of your continued advice, guidance, and pushing me to keep working. You’ve been not only great for me academically, but someone I’ve built a bond with. To my Guidance Counselor, Ms. Coughlin, thank you for all four years of preparing me and my classmates for college, along with course selection and preparation for the next school year. You’ve also helped me with any clarifications I needed. To my tutor, Heidi Scher, a huge thank you to you. You’ve helped me so much when I was struggling in some classes during junior year, and I realized I should’ve started working with you earlier than that. You were a huge help with my college applications, including pointing me in the right direction for the various essays I had to write.
I have lived everywhere from London, England, where I was born, to Pasadena, California, where I started and finished preschool, to Hillsborough, California, where I’ve never cherished such a short time spent there (two years), to Wellesley, Massachusetts, where I’ve spent the past 11 years. Nantucket will always hold a special place in my heart, with lots of more memories to make for the summers to come. As I depart from Wellesley to live on a college campus, I will always remember and miss these places I’ve been in.
I hope you read all of that. Every word above means so much more to me than you think. So, the decision. I applied to nine schools, with five acceptances and four rejections. I am very proud to announce that, for the next four years, I will be attending the University of Connecticut in Storrs, majoring in Pre-Journalism!
I knew that I wanted a career in sports broadcasting and journalism. Storrs has always felt like home to me like I belonged there. I’ve bled blue all my life, and I am very excited to pack up all my UConn stuff and bring it with me in August. Watching the Villanova game made me realize how passionate I really was about the Huskies. I can’t wait to get inside Gampel Pavilion, XL Center, and Madison Square Garden for some great UConn basketball! Speaking of Madison Square Garden, I will be attending this year’s Big East Tournament. Surprisingly, it’s my first one ever! I’ll see you there. Go Huskies!

So beautifully said love you Sweetheart…❤️
