Wow. That was one great weekend of wild card games. We saw almost every game go down to the wire. I hope the divisional round next weekend is just the same. Here’s my recap of every game that went down this weekend.
#2 Bills defeat #7 Colts, 27-24.
This was the game I hoped to watch. I thought Philip Rivers played solid for the most part, but he couldn’t score on the last drive. Josh Allen played terrific and led the Bills to their first playoff win in 25 years. Even though the Colts’ season comes to an end, Jonathan Taylor looks promising for the years to come. Stefon Diggs had another excellent performance with six receptions, 128 yards, and a touchdown.
#6 Rams defeat #3 Seahawks, 30-20.
Cam Akers didn’t see the field much for most of the regular season, but as of late the Rams have fed him and he has produced. Russell Wilson was very disappointing. With an offense that should be one of the best in the league, it’s concerning. Now they face an even bigger challenge: the Green Bay Packers.
#5 Buccaneers defeat #4 Washington, 31-23.
The star of the show was WFT quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who passed for 306 yards, one touchdown, an interception, and a rushing touchdown. However, he was no match for the greatest player in football history. Tom Brady threw for 381 passing yards and two touchdowns. We get Brady vs. Brees again and I could not be more excited.
The Ravens had secured the win, but stomping on the Titans logo cost them an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
#5 Ravens defeat #4 Titans, 20-13.
We didn’t see Derrick Henry run all over the Ravens, which was a big reason why the Titans lost. They only got into the end zone once on a Tannehill pass to A.J. Brown. Lamar Jackson showed how he’s the best scramble quarterback in the league right now. There’s a bright future for J.K. Dobbins, who should be the RB1 for the Ravens without a doubt.
#2 Saints defeat #7 Bears, 21-9.
These last two games were the least competitive of them all. The best part about this game was the Nickelodeon broadcast, which was a success. They should do that more often to appeal to the younger fans who can learn more about football. The Bears couldn’t get anything going offensively and ended up with only a last-second garbage touchdown by Jimmy Graham, which was an unbelievable catch even though it didn’t matter. I can’t wait to see what the Saints plan to do against the Bucs next weekend.
The Cleveland Browns stun the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round.
#6 Browns defeat #3 Steelers, 48-37.
This game was more of a blowout than the final score indicated. The first snap of the game resulted in a fumble in the end zone for the Browns’ first touchdown. When the first quarter ended, the Browns were up 28-0. Yikes. Ben Roethlisberger may have had 501 passing yards and four touchdowns, but having four interceptions is unacceptable. The funniest thing (besides the first quarter) was the Browns mocking JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is known to make Tik Toks of him doing the “Corvette Corvette” dance. I said this on Twitter, but for those who may not have seen it, this year’s Steelers team reminds me of last year’s New England Patriots. They both had great starts, thanks to being the best defensive team at the time. They both won their division but lost most of their final five games. Both teams got destroyed at one part of the game. For the Steelers, it was the offense, and for last year’s Patriots, it was the defense. At least the Patriots were within one possession to finish the game.

Great recap! Love the ‘20 Steelers/‘19 Patriots comparison. Spot on!
